Interactive Session with Police Officers regarding the role of the National Police Commission

Enhancing professionalism and efficiency of Sri Lanka Police

Kandy, 20 December 2019: An interactive session with selected Police Officers was held in Kandy on 20 December 2019 with the presence of the Chairman- National Police Commission (NPC), Commission members and officials of NPC. The session was organized to sensitize 50 Police Officers belonging to the ranks of OICs (Officers in Charge), ASPP (Assistant Superintends of Police), SPP (Superintends of Police), SSPP (Senior Superintends of Police), DIGs (Deputy Inspectors General) and HQIs (Head Quarter Inspectors) operating in 05 SSP divisions in the Kandy and Matale Districts.

The session focused on sensitizing Police Officers regarding the policy and administrative decisions taken by NPC towards the betterment of Police Officers over the years and the services rendered by the Commission to ensure improved professionalism and efficiency of the Sri Lanka Police.

This is the first of a series of programmes organized for senior police officers of selected districts island wide. The programme was supported by the United Nations Development Programme in Sri Lanka under the frame work of strengthening institutional capacity in line with Goal 16 of the Sustainable Development Goals.
